- Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, agreed to buy online movie service provider Vudu Inc.
The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer said today in a statement it will complete the acquisition within several weeks. The company didn’t disclose terms of the deal.
Vudu, based in Santa Clara, California, helps consumers stream movies to high-definition televisions and Blu-ray disc players, according to its Web site.
David Speiser, a spokesman for Vudu, didn’t return a voicemail message seeking comment.
