Katrina Kaif is often quite correct, especially when she travels to promote her movies.
But when she came to Delhi recently, there was a new, funny, zingy side to Kat. “I’ve too much energy and I don’t know what to do with it,” she proclaimed.
Since her co-stars this time are John Abraham and Neil Nitin Mukesh, is all that energy coming from the fact that she’s finally working with people her age? “I think so. It allows you to have a certain comfort level,” says Kat. “When you’re working with somebody so senior, who has achieved so much and has done 89 films, those backslapping moments aren’t there. That does not mean that you have to backslap your co-stars, not at all. But with actors my age, our mentality is the same. There’s the ‘been there, done that’ element with the seniors. So, while I may be going yackety-yak and blah blah, Akshay (Kumar) may just tell me, ‘Oh Katrina, please go talk to Jenny (his trainer from London)’. And there were times when I asked Akshay, ‘Can I take Jenny with me?’ And he was like, ‘Please, please, go. For me. Please!’ It’s different when the person whom you’re going yackety-yak with talks back to you and enjoys it. Your wavelength is the same,” she admits.
The two films that have been released after the producers’ strike ended haven’t had a very encouraging response. How does she think the audience is going to react to her film? “See, it can go two ways. One is, ‘We’ve not gone to the cinema for so long, why should we go now?’ In which case, I’ll cry and you will see a Katrina-shaped hole in the pavement underneath any tall building. The other one is that the audience is hungry for a good film and you know me, I’m not gonna do a film that appeals to a niche audience,” she says.
It’s at that point that the organisers intervene – it’s been too long, Kat needs to give more interviews, we’re told. But the new, bindaas Kat doesn’t think she needs to hurry. She just crosses two questions off our list – one on Claudia Ciesla, and the other on her having trouble dubbing for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani – and continues. Is she planning her birthday party in London this year (the Shah Rukh-Salman spat happened at her birthday party last year)? “I’m trying to. But now that so many people know about it, I have this awful feeling that something is gonna happen. Something is going to get delayed or some shooting dates will be shifted, and I won’t be able to go! But I’m thinking of going with my sisters,” she says.
But to come back to the questions she scratched off our list, does she really not want to say anything about Claudia, the German model who’s been linked to Salman? ’Coz Claudia’s sure been saying nice things about her! “I don’t know what to say about her. If she’s a nice person, I’ll take your word for it. I’m sure she is nice, I have no idea!” says Kat.

Katrina Kaif is considered the luckiest Bollywood actress and therefore we were left wondering why so many controversies were erupting related to her private life in the past few weeks. There was a buzz about Katrina and John off-screen relationships. It was also said that Neil Nitin Mukesh called her a sweetheart. Then there had been talks of her boyfriend Salman Khan-Claudia Ciesla relationship as well.
Ask her if it causes a rift in the bonding of her off screen relationships with her co-stars and Katrina says, “I just shrug them off. These are Chinese whispers, which started four months later after shooting. We are all grown up we are not kids anymore. We have to conduct ourselves with respectability now. I do not react to it at all. Every time I read something I smile and try to take something good and bad out of it.”

Mumbai: Although she is a superstar, surrounded by all glitz and glory and the best of materialistic desires money can buy, Katrina Kaif is feeling gloomy after her recent brush with harsh reality. The dainty beauty was left feeling sad and miserable after her recent visit to the much controversial security prison at Guantanamo Bay.
With several gruesome horror stories surrounding the prison, Katrina who shot at Guntanamo Bay was extremely depressed after the set shoot. On learning the brutalities and tortures several innocents had been subjected to in the prison, Katrina went in a state of shock.
Speaking to a news daily, the sad beauty said, “We are not making a documentary on 9/11 and so this film is highly entertaining yet very realistic. We shot in actual locations associated with the 9/11 attacks and Guantanamo was one of them. I was there for just a day to shoot my portions. It was shocking to see the high-profile prison where people who were sentenced for their lives were also living.”
“I did not meet any person arrested and jailed in connection with the terror attacks. But I have heard stories about them when I was shooting there. Some most wanted criminals have stayed there”, she added.
Talking about Katrina’s disdain, a news daily quoted a source as saying, “Katrina was amazed that we were making a movie for entertainment but here were prisoners leading a life of confinement completely devoid of entertainment. Kabir (Khan) narrated an actual incident about 9/11 and the prisoners who were detained in Guantanamo bay. That shocked Katrina. She felt that how we live in a very cushioned world, when in reality there is an awful amount of brutality.”

Everyone knows about the Neil-Salman confrontation… Neil Nitin Mukesh called Katrina Kaif ‘sweetheart’, and Sallu didn’t take too kindly to it.
But then, of course, the kissa was forgotten and Sallu and Neil are bhai-bhai again. And
now, though Kat remains mum about her Johnny co-star, she quite refers to Neil as
‘cutest of the lot’. When we bumped into the Neil recently, and he told us, “I think
Katrina is the cutest, too. The most important thing in life is to be a nice human being,
which she is. She is the prettiest and sexiest woman today, but at the same time she is so
down-to-earth. She’s a great friend.”

We got to know that John Abraham and Katrina Kaif were involved in some tu-tu-main-main while shooting the climax of their forthcoming film.
A unit member said, “It was a very difficult scene to co-ordinate. What irritated Katrina further were John’s remarks on the set.
They got into a major argument. That put her off! Katrina just stormed off the set.” Thankfully, the shoot had to be called off that day.
Kabir Khan had to cancel the shoot because of bad weather, but that really helped,” said our source. Kat had cooled off the next day and the shoot resumed again.
Katrina’s boyfriend Salman Khan would be more than happy to hear this. Sometime back rumors were rife that Salman keeps a tab on Katrina’s life and phone bills. He was quite upset with the reports about Katrina bonding with her New York co-star John Abraham.
If rumors are to be believed, Salman actually threw Katrina’s stuff out of his home because he didn’t like the idea of Katrina being friendly with his foe, John.
Bipasha though was not surprised with the rumors and termed it as bizarre.

Would you believe us if we told you that Katrina Kaif, all
of 24 years, is a cartoon addict? We were at Katrina’s
place recently for a photo shoot, and couldn’t help
noticing the cartoon characters all over. Picture this: a
large flat screen TV is set on Cartoon Network, on the
table of her lounge is a fat Spiderman pop-up book, she is
wearing a t-shirt that has Olive Oyl admiring Popeye’s
muscles and we won’t even get started about her shoes
which had tiny cartoon characters on them.

Mumbai, B-Town is abuzz with news on Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s relationship and the latest news surrounding the couple is about giving a name to their relationship. But it seems the 43 year old Khan boy is not too keen on a permanent relationship yet and is happy with his bachelorhood. He feels that his playboy reputation would not change even after marriage to Katrina.
“Destiny has either shocked or surprised me. If marriage has to happen, good. If not, then theek hai na. Taking vows in front of the fire or the kaazi, in church or signing a piece of paper are mere formalities to give a social status to marriage,” says Salman.
The actor believes in living by the day and thinks that love is the unification of two minds. When asked about the tipsy-turvy roads of his love life with Kaif, he says it is routine stuff that goes around in a relationship.
The actor feels, “Nowadays there are messy divorces. I don’t know if I am ready for such stuff.” This surely shows that the M word is not anywhere near Salman Khan in the near future.
Let’s hope that Katrina is not offended by Salman’s thought and whether the two tie the knot or not will only be known in future.
Till then, we wish they both live happily ever after!!

Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra are at war after Kat allegedly bagged the lead role in Dostana 2. Priyanka played the female lead in the original, which brought her into the limelight. If sources are correct, this will be Katrina’s first flick with Karan Johar. Meanwhile, the lead pair John Abraham-Abhishek Bachchan will be part of the sequel, which puts rumours of Imran Kan-Ranbir Kapoor replacing them to rest. However, Tarun Mansukhani has signed on Ranbir-Imran for another film, which will feature these buddies together.
Shahid sexiest veggie in Asia
Shahid Kapur has been voted as the ‘Sexiest vegetarian in Asia’ in a poll conducted by PETA. Shahid beat his former girlfriend Kareena Kapoor for the title. Kareena, who was convinced by Shahid to become a vegetarian, lost out to a Taiwanese actor Barbie Hsu for the female title.
Aamir-John contend for lead role
Aamir Khan and John Abraham might be contending for the lead role in Hollywood filmmaker Nagendra Karri’s Indian version of his English film Mobster. One of them will essay the role originally played by Johnny Depp in the film Mobster.
Katrina wants to step down
Katrina Kaif wants to step opt out of Sanjay Gadhvi’s 7 Days in Paris — a romantic flick opposite Imran Khan. The actress feels her role has been cut down a lot because of the changes Imran demanded in the script. Kat feels the final script is completely different from the original one narrated to her.
Monica in Dhobi Ghat
Monica Dogra, the female lead of rock band Shaa’ir + Func, is making her debut with Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat. The movie also stars Prateik Babbar and Aamir Khan in vital roles. This is Kiran Rao’s debut directorial venture. And she has another first in the offing — a baby!

Katrina Kaif turned out to be a true Bhartiya Nari recently, who takes her husband’s (in this case boyfriend’s) advice before doing anything.
Recently Kat was approached by a producer with a project. He expected her to readily accept it and grab the offer. But to his surprise nothing of the sort happened.
Katrina instead turned around and told the producer that she will have to ask Salman before committing anything. She also added that if he gives a go ahead then they will meet up again to discuss further details.
The producer had no other option but to let Katrina do as she wishes.
Ever since her link-up with John Abraham happened we have seen a big change in Katrina. She has not only become more open about Salman’s presence in her life and is making a more obvious effort to make him feel special.
After Sallu threw her stuff out of his house, may be, for the first time she really got scared about losing him for good.

Flick through this month’s Indian edition of Vogue or any one of the country’s gossipy tabloids and you will see one face pictured again and again — that of Bollywood’s newest megastar: a 24-year-old from the London borough of Barnet.
The profile belongs to Katrina Kaif, who watched her first Bollywood film at the age of 16 on Channel 4. Rejected as a teenager by modelling agencies in London for not being skinny enough, she has the £1 billion-a-year Hindi cinema industry at her feet.
The trajectory of her career has been extraordinary even by Bollywood’s hyperbolic standards. She arrived in India aged 17, speaking not a word of Hindi or knowing how to dance — two prerequisites of Indian cinema. Today, with 15 films to her credit, she is India’s most searched-for celebrity, according to Google; the country’s sexiest woman, according to the lads’ magazines FHM and Maxim; and the sub-continent’s most bankable female lead, according to the past year’s box-office receipts.
Her A-list status was confirmed earlier this year when Mattel, the toymaker, said that a forthcoming Bollywood Barbie doll would be modelled on Miss Kaif — not bad for a former wannabe model who couldn’t get a break in waif-obsessed Britain. Assured of being mobbed if she appears in public in India, she cherishes her relative anonymity in Britain and speaks fondly about being able to stroll down Finchley High Street unmolested during her frequent but secret visits to her childhood home. “My London childhood and my career are two very different things,” she said. “I don’t like people to make the connection. The little bits you’ll read on the internet here and there about my London roots, they are the limits of what I’m willing to divulge.”
What is known is that she is one of eight siblings — six sisters, one brother — born in Hong Kong to a British mother, a lawyer-turned- charity worker, and a now-estranged Kashmiri father. The family moved to Finchley via homes across the globe when Miss Kaif was 14.
After being brought up on a film diet of Casablanca, MGM classics and Charlton Heston epics — “my mum was strict; she wouldn’t allow us to see ‘bad’ movies,” — the exuberance of Bollywood resonated instantly.
Miss Kaif’s fair skin, classical features and hourglass figure proved an instant hit in India, even if her halting Hindi was initially jibed at. Industry watchers say that her success has been based on her work ethic as much as her looks. She has five films in various states of production at the moment.
Miss Kaif is about to take the biggest gamble of her career. Her next film, New York, is set in the United States and based on the 9/11 terror attacks. Part of a new wave of Bollywood films that are dispensing with traditional Hindi formulas, it risks bemusing her fan base, which is used to seeing her miming and dancing.
New York is going to be a complete departure,” Miss Kaif said. “No lip synching. No dancing. Whether it’s going to be a good surprise or a bad surprise — I like to leave those things in the hands of God, and destiny and the audience.”
Brits in Bollywood
— Computer science student Upen Patel, from London, won a modelling contest in 2002 and went on to star in the hit Bollywood thriller 36 China Town. He has won 14 film awards
— Alice Patten, the daughter of the former Hong Kong governor Chris Patten, made her Bollywood debut in Rang De Basanti (Paint It Saffron) in 2006, acting and singing in Hindi opposite the Oscar-nominated megastar Aamir Khan
— The satirical King of Bollywood (2004) featured Sophie Dahl as a documentary filmmaker who travels to Mumbai to make a movie on an ageing star, played by Om Puri, who proves increasingly delusional
— Toby Stephens — the villain in the Bond move Die Another Day — made his Bollywood debut as a British army officer alongside Aamir Khan in The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey, an epic 2005 musical about the 1857 Indian mutiny
— Glasgow-raised Ferena Wazeir studied at Rada but was spotted by Bollywood scouts at a camel fair in Rajasthan. He went on to star in several films.
