Bollywood John Abraham Loved Kaakha Kaakha, The hitmaker is at it again. After conquering the BO this side of the Vindhyas, Gautham Vasudev Menon is ready to strike B-town. We hear that the director will direct the remake of his Tamil cop story, Kaakha Kaakha (KK), in Hindi. While speculation about Gautham helming a Hindi film has been on for a while now, this time, say our sources, the project has got the nod from the director. To be produced by Vipul Shah, the film will see Dostana dude John Abraham step into the shoes of Suriya, who essayed the role of an encounter specialist in the original. When BT contacted Gautham, he confirmed that the project will happen later this year. “Feroze Khan had paid an advance and got the rights of KK six years ago. There are some issues that need to be sorted out regarding the rights with Kalaipuli S Dhanu, the original producer. It’ll be clarified soon and we’ll be ready to roll,” says Gautham. And it was Vipul, he says, who loved the script and chose John for the role. “John has watched KK and loved it. He was interested in doing it and Vipul came to me with the offer. I never chased them,” he clarifies.
Didn’t he want to cast Suriya in the Hindi version, too? “I did ask Suriya many years ago about him starring in the Hindi remake. But he wasn’t very sure back then,” explains Gautham.Read More Read More
