“The Birdmen” is a fantastic movie, based on the true story. I can’t recommend it enough. Sadly, the producers reserved the rights to it and refused to sell it on VHS or DVD, despite the many petitions sent. Finally, though, you can get it through a private source that makes DVD copies for $15, including shipping and handling. The copies are poor quality, but still worth it! The name is RXXXXX MXXXXXX, though I don’t have the address off hand.
The movie itself is a wonderful one for aeronautics and military enthusiasts alike. The general storyline of an American pilot who constructs a glider right in the middle of the German top-security POW camp, in order to get a top-secret, very important Norwegian scientist to safety, is absolutely great!
